All-star cheerleaders are placed into divisions, which are grouped based upon age, size of the team, gender of participants, and ability level. Currently, there is no system in place that awards only one state or national title. Professional cheerleading eventually spread to soccer and basketball teams as well. Teams may attend organized summer cheerleading camps and practices to improve skills and create routines for competition. Good sportsmanship is one behavior that directly involves sideline cheerleaders.
